Liz earned her Master of Science in materials science and engineering at the University of Arizona after spending two years working in the steel industry and blacksmithing in northern Florida. She has a passion for education, science and ancient crafts, and teaches the fundamentals of materials science at the University of Arizona in Tucson, Arizona. She is currently working on her PhD at the University of Arizona to continually broaden her metallurgical understanding, which she loves to share. The formation of Desert Metal Craft is an expression of her desire to continue learning and to pass on her knowledge about ancient crafts in the metallurgical world.
